HELP NO LONGER REQURED. BT SORTED OVER THE PHONE. My elderly mother has been moved to a nursing home, and does not have metal capacity and unfortunately I do not have POA. We are in the process of clearing out her rented accommodation and need to close her landline account.
I cannot do this myself over the phone, they need my mother to give permission to speak to me. She is unable to give that. So how do I close the account?

this a customer community forum and your post does not go to BT. I have asked forum mods who are BT employees to see if they can help and they will post here
obviously there is a security problem without POA
