Hi - I feel a little frustrasted, I renewed my contract for Full Fibre in March of this year and when I spoke to the operator I Was told that I can move my contract to my new up and coming house move - however I just discovered via the home buyer pack that my new house does not have BT full fibre in the said area, and as such I cannot get the speeds I require for my partner and I business when we work from home - Will I have to pay to buy out the contract? I understand contracts, but it seems unfair that I want to remain with BT but cannot because full fibre is not yet at the place we are moving too.
If any service from Openreach is available, strictly speaking , you either take that service, even if it’s not as fast as you would like or you pay ETC , what’s more unless a faster alternative from someone else is available, it’s irrelevant anyway …however there have been examples on thus forum where a lister has been advised if this , basically take the speed available or pay ETC and use the alternative (Virgin or whoever ) only for the poster to return saying they were excused the contractual obligation because FTTP wasn’t available…so basically you need to ask , you may be excused you may be held to term
Finally , if FTTP is so important to your situation then presumably you should have checked availability before agreeing to move to the new address
