Default on credit report
Help please
on my credit reports bt have lodged a default against me for the previous whole of Bill around 243 pounds but my account is clear
It must be an old one when I was in default but it's now affecting my credit and the debt has been passed to moorcroft apparently though I've heard nothing from them
I've phoned it and says the debt still stands even though account clear so they won't do anything to help
I'm at a loss
Can someone please get this all sorted
Ie clear records from experian etc
Call off the debt collectors who are now saying they gonna get a cab against me

Re: Default on credit report
The first thing you need to do is raise a dispute with either Equifax or Experian, depending on who the debt is with. You can do that at
- Online at www.equifax.co.uk/ask
- Call 0800 014 2955
- Address – Equifax Ltd
- Customer Service Centre
- PO Box 10036
- Leicester
- LE3 4FS
or
- Online at www.experian.co.uk
- Call 0344 481 8000
- Address - Experian Headquarters Talbot House
- Talbot Street
- Nottingham
- N80 1TH
They'll then liaise with BT for you.
