Spoke to a ‘customer service rep’ about on 4th June regarding how useless they’ve been (been trying to get internet since Feb). Promised me a cheque for my troubles and would be with me in 10 days. I gave benefit of the doubt and assumed 10 working days because, you know, they’re bloody useless, lo and behold, today, still nothing.
Genuine question: do they purposely try to be the worst company in the world? An absolute disgrace of a company I actively tell people not use BT aka a big load of **bleep**

Oh, they've got some way to go to catch up with Sky. You should try reading the posts on their forum.
I think you'll find it's the same wherever you go today.
(And no, I don't and never have, worked for BT).
Did you have a date confirmed in writing when your broadband would be activated?
If not you are not entitled to any automatic compensation.
If you do have a confirmed date and the installation was not activated on the confirmed dated you are entitled to automatic compensation.
See the following link.
Oh I forgot to mention in the original post - yes, I did get it sorted at the end of May…. after endless hours of me chasing because of their incompetence.
Got the chat transcript about my cheque. Now I’ve got to muster the energy to call them and find out where my cheque is… again, onus is on the customer. This ‘company’ is as bad as fly tippers.
If you have a look at the link I posted you will see that it is "Automatic Compensation".
It is credited to your BT account and it should be there within 30 days of the agreed service activation date.
If it is not in your account you should lodge a complaint with BT.
