Extortionate cost of broadband

My contract is due for renewal in October and currently my broadband package is £87 pm which is far too expensive for me now and I am planning on downgrading from Halo back to full fibre. I am assuming that this will be a straightforward process, has anyone done this already and was it straightforward?

Re: Extortionate cost of broadband

Hi @elleboag

Halo is an add-on benefit only, not a broadband product.

However, definitely not straight forward removing the add-on benefit from your package. I had to leave and come back to get it removed from mine.

If you do manage to get it removed cleanly, please come back and let us know how.

Good grief!
I will contact them tomorrow. Comes to something when I am paying £101+ per month now…. Way too much.

Re: Extortionate cost of broadband

For that price you must have more than just broadband+ halo. TV maybe?

Halo is a broadband promotion in itself, addons can be removed with ease, like calling plans and calling features.
Switching to non-Halo promotions is a full regrade with a new minimum term.

Re: Extortionate cost of broadband

89 pm for halo and lumbered with Bt sports 26 pm which I also can’t find out how to cancel.
mall a bit too much and too challenging to change. Sick of it. Tempted to go onto another provider entirely. Been BT for decades but now it’s just taking the mickey!

@VeteranISPUser

I think if you re read @Richie post you will see that he was saying that Halo add on removal was a recontract unlike  an add on calling plan and other features that are easy to remove or change.

He was not saying that Halo had anything to do with calling plans.
