Hi Chrisjp - I’m inclined to agree with your conclusion about ‘price promise’ - I’m offered the opportunity to renew a full fibre 100 + halo3 with whole home wi-fi for £52pm while a new Customer can sign up for the same service for £39.99 pm sans Halo3 - It may just be me but I can’t see a price for the halo3 bolt-on on the BT website nor can I see how a new customer could ask for, or get, halo 3 (?) it does make me question if the “Price Promise” is simply there to reassure the time poor that there’s no point in looking further as you’re being offered the best deal going.
Sadly, after many years of good service and being very satisfied with BT I’m now going to head to a competitor (probably Zen) for the promise of improved speeds for far less money - largely because I feel I’m being deceived and any trust in the BT brand has gone. I’m just curious as to why your advice - having reached the same conclusion - is to accept the renewal offer and stay as a (disgruntled?) ‘hostage” customer rather than to vote with their feet?
Is there a compelling reason to stay with BT over their competitors? Thanks in advance.
