Formal complainy

Still trying to get a paid account shown as settled on transunion since November.  This was an old account thar suddenly appeared on my credit file.  Goodbye to a mortgage as it still shows as in default.  Is the only way to go with this to sue bt? This account suddenly appeared as  default on October 2022 from 2017, so I paid it straight away.  It is March and still showing as a default each month although I have disputed it with everyone.  What now?
