I'm on the Home Essentials package at £15 per month
I got an email back in Jan telling me it was going up to £18, then another mail in Feb saying the prices would remain frozen. I logged on to my account and next month's bill will be £18
I've look on here and other forums which say it should remain at the old price, but I called BT and they seem to think the price rise is correct although he said the rise is consistent across all packages, something the email contradicted
Does anyone know what the real rate is?
This is the up to date pries
social tariff
BT did publish thatte essential paces were increasing but quickly retracted and said there was no increases to essential packages
Hi @rangout
Welcome to the community.
If you received a second email saying the price was not going to increase, it shouldn't change.
When you look at the latest bill, what price is it showing? If there were any changes, it would show on your April bill.
Michael
The May bill says £18 per month
It's hard to tell with April's bill says £17.40 (£18) but they say they deducted £14.50 (This is a refund for this service on your old plan)
It has gone up, but there's nowhere online where it says £18 is the new rate - it's either £15 or £16 per month
Thanks @rangout.
It certainly does seem to have gone up. The April one will have a part month increase.
I'd recommend getting back in touch with our billing guides and letting them know about the second email saying it wasn't going up.
They will be able to open a complaint on the account and if you aren't satisfied with what they say, you can request to take it further.
