Just received my annual price rise email from BT which reads as follows
BT Landline and BT Mobile calls and services (including most rental and call prices and the cost of calling or texts to EU countries) and roaming add-ons will increase on or after 31 March each year from March 2024 by CPI +3.9%. For details of all prices that are increasing, click here and head to pages 2 and 3. |
So I click on the link and voila:-
Solved! Go to Solution.
I feel you pain, clearly nobody bothered to check that the links actually worked before they sent out the emails, so another ED209 makes its way into the world.
The mods have been noticeably quiet on this subject, I don't suppose for one minute that I'm the only one who's been sent a duff link
The link successfully takes me to a PDF price guide.
FTTC > Huawei HG612 > Deco M5 in router mode with Google DNS.
Thanks for that @rbz5416
I thought the properties of the link I was sent looked strange (https://intelli-direct.com/453120A6D313B9BC7F5643AC9A9C997912B41DA45D9D6671485E469F904EE412559FA592C...)
That doesn't compare in any way to the link you provided, I wonder where the 👹 that came from
👍
I have the same link in my email & clicking yours above also takes me to the PDF. Might be worth trying Google's DNS on the device you're using if you have a BT Hub that's locked to theirs.
That's just incredible!
Yup, you were right @rbz5416 , change to Google DNS and it works fine.
Many Thanks
I've no idea who or what intelli-direct is nor why BT are using it. Google doesn't help & intelli-direct.com just resolves to a blank page. I can only guess from the name that it's some kind or redirection service, but it creates a URL that's longer than the original!
Somewhere in a parallel universe, the largest major ISP probably operates an accurate web site & fully functioning network. It may even have 1st line CS staff that are properly trained & have at least a vague idea of what their job is & how to do it. They might even plan, test & implement a migration process from one arm of the business to another & THEN announce it.
Meanwhile we can only dream...
Apart from swapping the DNS, has BT done anything about it, I tried logging via their twitter feed yesterday but kept getting dont theres no issues reported.
