The only BT staff here are the mods and they don't have access to customer accounts.
Only observations:
You should check precisely what package you are on currently ?
I would recommend you check what Home essentials package you are on currently - you should have that information via MY BT - eg under the broadband section and it should appear when viewing your bill ?
If you are phoning BT customer services you could ask them that precise question.
With that knowledge - determine or question whether you are on the most appropriate package given your broadband speed and (No) income. Next question whether you are on the correct standard price for that package.
On a general note OFCOM publishes on it website
