For a couple of weeks I have not been able to login to my BT account. BT website states that it has sent a code to my email account, but the code never arrives.
I can login to the BT email account on the website, though.
Does anyone else have this issue?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@Helgi Take the time to read through this forum. There are literally hundreds of posts just like yours.
I have searched through the forum and I have found no post mentioning that the access code sent to a BT account, that I can access, does not arrive.
Neither have I found a solution to any of the login issues reported within the last month.
@Helgi In which case, call BT on 0800 800 150 explain the problem and let one of their guides assist you in resolving the issue.
🙂
Thanks for the advice which i followed. I have called BT on the number provided; then I got I get a mobile text with a link for reporting the issue ... and the link took me to a login page with UID and PWD which I completed and get a message that a code was sent to m BT email account, but as before the code did not arrive (and I have checked the Spam every time) i.e. back to square one.
I thought that just maybe someone on this forum had experienced the same issue and could point to a path to a solution.
@Helgi I'm not sure, but I believe your MyBT account email and your BT email addresses are supposed to be different? I'm sure someone else may well be able to confirm that.
Also, is your MyBT App up to date on your phone?
Yes, I believe that the amil account (which works fine) and the BT Account are different i.e. same UID but different password. When trying to login, the UID and PWD seems to be accepted, so I can only assume that that part is OK.
As for the BT App, I installed a couple of weeks ago since I saw that maybe that could be a way to see my BT account, but logging in to the BT App also sends a code to my xxx@btinternet.com email address which also never arrives.
Check that the BT.com domain is not in your blocked senders list.
Log onto your BTMail account using a browser, not an email client/app, and then click on your username at the right hand side. Select "Settings" then go to the left hand side and select "Mail". Scroll down and click on "Blocked Senders".
Scroll down the list and if it is there select it. Click on the small "Trash" symbol at the right hand side. It will only delete the email address from the blocked senders list not your contacts list.
Hi,
Many thanks for the advice of checking Blocked Senders (in hindsight, why didn't I think of that). Yes I had blocked "bt.com" and various emails such as "ebilling@bt.com". I recall blocking some of these some time ago since I was inundated with spam relating to BT.
I deleted all of these and now I can once again access my BT account.
Many thanks for the advice ... which also makes perfect sense.
🙂
