I'm Moving to Sky on the 4th November but I Want to Stay with BT

Go to solution

As per the title, I decided to move to Sky on the cost basis but I've now decided it was a bad choice.

Is is possible for BT to stop the move at this stage?

BT have a broadband offer on at the moment with some great prices and the obligatory gift vouchers.

Stick with Sky for a week then as your within your fourteen days cooling off period use the one touch switch to cancel and rejoin BT as a new customer.

You'll be given a new account number as your old one closed when you left.

Do this myself bi annually and apart from returning verious router's it's pain free.

@Kodikid

Thanks for your reply.

The reason I want to stay is I've been diagnosed with extremely high blood pressure & I have to avoid any form of stress until they get it under control.

I feel that having to mess about changing the new Sky router & dealing with any other issues will be stress I don't need.

Shouldn't be a problem.  I've recently done the same myself, after Sky screwed up an order and then tried to BS me about what is and isn't possible.

You will need to return Sky's router.  (If they've sent you one.  Make sure you keep the certificate of posting the Post Office gives you and I'd also keep an eye on the Royal Mail's tracking page.  Take an keep a screenshot of it when it says it was delivered and signed for and keep it for future reference).

Hi @caravanj   How long ago was this? When I started the switch to Sky, BT called me and offered me a price that would beat Sky. All I said was yes please, and the switch was cancelled.

@VeteranISPUser

Thanks for your reply.

BT did make me an offer but it was only about £5 a month less than I'm paying now.  If I do get switched over to Sky I'll have to cope with it but I'm trying to eliminate any form of potential stress that I can at the moment.
