Hi, I have 46 days on my contract and have decided to move to a cheaper service. When is the best time to switch so as to avoid any fees and not to over pay.
Thanks

Default always used to be 14 days from order, so 14 days from end of contract. But a few days either way will be a negligible amount if that date isn't convenient.
But don't cancel anything with BT unless you're moving to a non-Openreach based provider.

Re: Leaving BT
When I moved from BT 7 months ago I waited till the week my BT FTTC contract was due to end before I started the switch to another isp on FTTC.
I had been looking around at other isps a few weeks before that to see what other deals there was.
I was also moved to internet calls or digital calls as some call it for my landline calls when I moved isp but have not used landline for calls in well over the last year.
