Hello!
My dad is suddenly moving back to his country to be with mum due to financial and family reasons.
He has been a loyal customer of BT for over 20 years. Unfortunately, his contract had renewed for 2 years early this year. As moving back had not been planned, we called BT to cancel early but seems that he'll have to pay a big sum of money for early termination.
Would there be a way to avoid this fee, or pay somehow less? He has to leave for financial reasons thus this big chunk of money is an issue for him. He's been with BT over 20 consecutive years, and it'd be great to end on a good note.
If anyone can suggest anything that'd be really great. Thanks in advance!

There is no way to avoid that charge as he agreed to the terms of the contract.
