Offers not allowing purchase

Go to solution

I have received several emails suggesting new "VIP deals" as I am due to renew.  However, even after signing in to my account, looking at the suggestions and then clicking on "Purchase Now", I receive an error that stops the transaction.

This has happened with every renewal email, what is the issue?

From other forum posts this in not unusual. Try the retention team 08007831401 and negotiate a new deal like your online offer. Also know what BT offer to new customers and also what is on offer from other ISPs which should help your negotiations

Re: Offers not allowing purchase

I keep getting "exclusive VIP offers" in mailshots that encourage me to go online and view them. When I do, they are invariably more expensive than my current contract - which is expensive enough as it stands.
Why do BT keep wasting postage, and their and my time, on this stupidity?

@imjolly When I went through this, the phone number on-screen was the one for retentions.  Even with the emails and screenshots, they weren't (initially) prepared to honour the offers - they even tried to upsell me!!

I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!

@chrisjp @Crimliar   Well at least you two are getting "offers".  All I ever get is bigger and bigger bills.
