Openreach delaying installation

Its been more than 1 month openreach still not completed the external work. When i check for availablity it says fiber available and can be orderd. But BT not able to complete the order.Any way to speed up the Openreach work or escalate it.

On contacting BT support they simpliy giving the date to get next update. No where int he world takes this much of time in getting an fiber connection. Really unhappy why things moving with BT.

Can some one adivse if i need to wait or can try with any other provider.

Re: Openreach delaying installation

Can't understand why you are unhappy with BT for something totally beyond their control. They have no more influence over Openreach than any other ISP.

You would have the same problem with any other provider using the Openreach network.

Re: Openreach delaying installation

If the problem is with Openreach not completing external work you will have exactly the same problem with any other provider that uses the Openreach infrastructure.

EDIT: Post crossed with the one above.

Re: Openreach delaying installation

until openreach complete the fibre installation allowing you to order FTTP then no ISP using openreach will be able to provide you with FTTP

Re: Openreach delaying installation

Also, changing provider to another one that uses Openreach, would put you back at the bottom of the queue.

What date have BT Retail said that your broadband package will be activated?

Re: Openreach delaying installation

You may be entitled to automatic compensation, which is credited against future bills.

https://www.bt.com/help/account-and-billing/automatic-compensation

Not all providers offer this.

Re: Openreach delaying installation

Yes it's true that BT is not responsible for providing the fibre connection, but customers cannot complain directly to Openreach for their delays and broken promises, only BT can as their customer.

So it's necessary to turn up the heat a bit on BT to "encourage" them to turn up the heat a bit on Openreach.

Otherwise nothing will ever get better.

Re: Openreach delaying installation

When you say External Work, which work are you referring to?

Is it just getting a Cable from the CBT on the Pole or Underground Joint Box to the CSP on your House?

Or is it more Complex Work, i.e. Network Build?

If it’s Network Build that could come with a whole host of delays for various reasons.
