Renew Now. With a landline?

My contract is ending and I'm happy to have the same package as previously (Full fibre 100 + landline PAYG).

I have received an email from BT which says the "Best deal for your current package is £29.99/month"

If I click the "Renew Now" button am I committed to BT at that stage or can I still change my mind?

I'm asking because the "what you are already getting" text makes no mention of my landline (which I want to keep) and I am concerned that the cheap £29.99/month excludes my landline.

Re: Renew Now. With a landline?

How does the offer of £29.99/month compare with what you're currently paying?
If there's not much difference between the two you're probably best letting the contract expire and go onto month to month billing.
If you call BT to get a reassurance that your landline will be retained, you'll probably get the hard sell to move you to EE and, as a number of other posters on this forum have reported, this often doesn't end well!

Re: Renew Now. With a landline?

I'm currently paying £49.42/month. The offered drop to £29.99 is so big, it's worrying me that something is missing.

Re: Renew Now. With a landline?

Definitely sounds iffy.

PAYG landline only accounts for about £3/m though.

Re: Renew Now. With a landline?

Yes, @licquorice, that's my thinking. Seems too good to be true.
My concern was if I clicked "renew now" will there be an option to add my landline if it's been left off the BT offer or will I have to cancel everything under the 14-day rule and start the whole process again?

Re: Renew Now. With a landline?

As I said, even if it has been left off it will only be another £3/m in any case.

@grahamm1

You may lose your phone number in the process, so just stay on a rolling month contract, as I suspect it will end up costing you more in the end, as they will want you to move to EE and try and sell you extras.

Re: Renew Now. With a landline?

From mine & a couple of other's recent experience, it almost certainly excludes telephone. But as already said, PAYG is only £3-5 even if it is missing. When I clicked through my offers I was taken to a checkout page where the PAYG I already had was now an added extra. But with the potential saving you're still quids in.

Although there have also been a few reports lately that when you get to checkout, the price doubles!

I can no longer check as my offers disappeared when I placed my order with Sky.

Review : Renew Now. With a landline?

FWIW.

I'm getting the 'Special Offers 4 You', attempting to get me to renew early. Why ?
I looked at the calculations, and the total is at least £5.00 more, depending on Call Package.
On Call Packages, I'm offered PAYG or UNLIMITED MINUTES. What happened to 700Minutes, still in the current BT Consumer Price Guide.
Why is 700minutes advertised; if, it's not available ?
This offer, doesn't instill any confidence in it's credibility. It looks like the offer was compiled by a Dyscalculia AI Robot, in development.
