Renewing Contact

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how long it is before I can get a renewal price on my broadband. My renewal date is 22nd October.
We have a full fibre in my area supplied by Trooli who’s cost is less  than my copper and a much faster speed (BT don’t do full fibre in my area) Trooli will need a couple of months notice to set it up so I cannot leave it until my end of contract day. But I would like to know what BT can offer me.

Hi @Syrup   Including the loyalty tax, the chances are it will be more than you are paying now!

Re: Renewing Contact

You can leave it until the end of contract at which point you will go onto a 30day rolling contract.

You will lose any discount you might have but it will mean you can leave BT at any point with only giving them 30 days notice which will allow your other ISP time to install.

Re: Renewing Contact

Hi @Syrup

This from the Trooli frequency asked questions “If your contract is ending in the next 3 months let us know! We may be able to switch you sooner than you think.”

Another consideration is if you have a landline telephone number. You would have to move to a VOIP provider, very easy to transfer your BT number but remember it is an extra cost.

Re: Renewing Contact

I have just had a good chat with Trooly who were very helpful. They will give me connection for September and October for £1 each month until my BT contract is cancelled. They explained about VOIP which I think BT are changing to soon anyway. I am going for the 500Mb at £29.99 p.m.
Plus there is no annual increase for RPI + the usual 3%.
