Transfer in to BT via uswitch

I am trying to transfer my Broadband and phone via Uswitch
to BT. It says if I don't have MyBT account I need to open one.
When I try open One it says I need an account Number.

I obviously don't have an account number as I cant complete the transfer?

Re: Transfer in to BT via uswitch

What’s the advantage of Uswitch rather contacting BT directly , online via BT.Com or calling ?

Re: Transfer in to BT via uswitch

@iniltous I am unsure why you have replied. Either you have not understood the problem or your expertise does not extend to transfers in to BT. I am even more unsure why your reply has received Kudos unless it is a "buddy" who add kudos to all your answers. I dont have time now to answer your reply as such but will do so.

Re: Transfer in to BT via uswitch

What a bizarre post.

You are trying to switch to BT by means of using uSwitch. This route is giving you problems hence the question as to why you wish to use uSwitch rather than directly with BT.

Seems a perfectly reasonable question to me.

Re: Transfer in to BT via uswitch

@licquorice Clearly you also have limited knowledge of the current transfer process . Fortunately I have a contact at BT who will help me.
I will update . I will just say the problem is not with USwitch . I went there AFTER trying on BT,com.

Re: Transfer in to BT via uswitch

We're probably getting caught up in the stupid of creating a BT ID here.  On at least one "sign up" page when creating a BT ID it does indeed ask you to input your BT ID in order to create a BT ID!  What it's actually asking you for is the email address you'd like to use to access the account!

I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!

Re: Transfer in to BT via uswitch

You cannot open a BTID without the account number as this is to monitor your online account with BT so unless you have an account there is no need for one.

As @Crimliar has suggested it is likely asking what email address you would like to use for either the sign up journey or to have an account set up.  Outside that no one here will be able to help you with stuff being asked of you by YouSwitch as they are a separate company.

Re: Transfer in to BT via uswitch

IT IS NOTHING TO DO WITH  uSWITCH          When you apply through  uSwitch

they do  nothing   they do not ask anything other than  name address & what service you want and any add ons.

It then forwards you to

https://www.bt.com/broadband/affiliate-offer= Etc Etc  Deleted as it has all my details coded in.

I am sure you will agree that is a BT site?         It  then  is the same as ordering on BT except

it  already has  chosen package and  my name and address.

It also has this link   https://www.bt.com/broadband/switch     which doesnt mention anything

of  what happens next.
