Re: Vulnerable pensioner nan mis-sold 900mbps

Bearing in mind they're probably confusing the 14 day thing by demanding the refund for the past year too, simply call & request the revert to the old package within the 14 days first without mentioning the past year & it should be done

Also make sure you use the words "cancel the present package" and take a note of who you are speaking to.

@natashajay

Sorry but I am not sure why you keep posting on the forum as nobody here can help apart from give you advice.  the forum mods posted in message 3 what to do and I have twice suggested that you email consumer resolutions team and include a link to this thread and being BT highest level of complaints they will get back to you.  Phone calls are getting nowhere apart from wasting time

Re: Vulnerable pensioner nan mis-sold 900mbps

People on here are insulting my intelligence by believing there is an easy option over the phone. These front line customer service providers use aggressive predatory tactics and are not above lying to ensure you stay trapped in the plan. Until everyone on here is in the situation where their vulnerable mum has been scammed by a predatory salesman I would advise you all to act with a bit of empathy.

Re: Vulnerable pensioner nan mis-sold 900mbps

They trapped her in a new plan with add-ons while she was still in a similarly unsuitable contract until autumn 2027 with the expensive contract, predatory salesmen over the phone are trying to revert her to her old plan so the cooling period is void and she is still stuck in this unsuitable plan with high exit fees. It is simply disgraceful the way that she has been being scammed for a year without our knowledge, and finally we can do something about it but are being stonewalled by aggressive salesmen unwilling to lose a commission.

So you're not being stonewalled on the 14 days at all, let it revert & wait to deal with the rest after

Also the salesmen will not be able to reduce a package while in the original contract until 2027 so they're not being predatory or aggressive about losing a sale

Once I revert I will have exit fees trying to get my nan out of a predatory contract.

Re: Vulnerable pensioner nan mis-sold 900mbps

the point is she is in the cooling period of a new package now.. so I am legally allowed to put her on a fibre 2 deal without a halo package which is much more suitable.

Re: Vulnerable pensioner nan mis-sold 900mbps

TBH , I don’t think it’s a lack of empathy, it’s trying to get a straight story , is it BT or EE (seems likely it’s BT ) , was it Openreach or EE visiting , why an engineer has anything more than their own opinion on what is mis selling , is it Nan , or Mum , is it the current very recently renewed ‘contract’ being complained about , that’s still supposedly in the cooling off period , or the previous minimum term that has 12 months or more to run and therefore been running for presumably the last year or so ….if this engineer visit was available because the customer had Halo and a home visit is a benefit of Halo , to complain that Halo has no benefit to the customer seems a contradiction.

As a balance, I’ve never had pushy BT sales  representives , never had the sense that what was better for the BT guide was pushed in preference to what I required or wanted , so this entire notion that all BT representatives are deceitful, or aggressive or acting completely at odds with the customers wishes is ridiculous.

The OP has been advised of the appropriate way to complain ,if they have a valid complaint no doubt a remedy will be offered , they seem to want to not use that path and get a commitment or whatever from BT staff that can’t authorise what they want .

Re: Vulnerable pensioner nan mis-sold 900mbps

Good for u initious babe, i wouldn’t be posting on BT if it was EE and I can call my nan by whatever name I want, good for you that you’ve had a good experience with BT salesman, wait until you reach 80 years old and they hear and elderly voice and trap you into a contract you don’t need xx
