Xbox game pass - unable to process request

I’ve recently upgraded my broadband to fibre. With this I was given free 6 months of game pass ultimate. 
I only received the email 6 days ago so well within the 14 day period to activate. 
When trying to to redeem via ‘my products’ on BT site, it is saying ‘unable to process your request. Please try again’ 

I have done this via my phone web browser and on my laptop, it is still saying the above.
