Xbox gamepass hacked bt account

Hi I believe my bt account was hacked and someone ordered xbox gamepass. Is there a way to see if its being used or what email it may be linked to. I did not order and I manged to stop the reoccurring charges. I also changed passwords for account. I am just intreasted as how the bt account links to a Microsoft account. Is there some verification or activation code as nothing but an order email came through to my email  that was the first and only info i had to the online order?  Trying to understand if the person has now access to my bt xbox pass and can reactivate from xbox  ?

Hi how do you find what account or email is linked to the pass. Some how I got hacked and they purchased xbox pass. I don't see anywhere what account is linked. I've disabled monthly eeocuring charge but not sure if they can reorder from xbox

Hi, @Littlesteve1 welcome to the community and thanks for posting, that's not good I'm glad you managed to secure your MyBT account and stop that on time before you were charged. The activation is all done through Microsoft so the Game pass details are not stored on BT's systems. I've copied the process below so you can see the steps that would have been followed.

After clicking ‘Add now’ customers will arrive at a dedicated gaming page on BT.com which will explain the benefits of Xbox Games Pass Ultimate and give them the option to ‘Confirm’. After confirming a pop-up will appear with the terms and conditions. Once they’ve accepted the Terms and Conditions, they’ll be taken to Microsoft’s page to activate their pass.

I'll send you a private message in a moment so you can get in touch with the moderation team, we can raise a case with a specialist BT team who can liaise with Microsoft to ensure the Game pass has been stopped. It can only be reactivated through MyBT and as you've changed the password that should now be secure.

You're asking something that I can't imagine BT are able to help you with.

I'm actually a bit confused about what you're asking if I'm honest because surely you must know what your Xbox log-in is, or at least was. To the best of my knowledge that tends to be the same as any Microsoft log-in you have got.

From my own personal situation I have always had my old Hotmail email address linked to my Xbox Gamertag which is what I log in to my both my Microsoft and Xbox accounts with.

I have used a different mail provider as my primary email account for coming on 20 years now which is what I use to log-in in to My BT account.

BT's back office team in Newcastle will definitely need to know your Gamertag and I'm pretty sure they'll also need to know your email address linked to your Microsoft/Xbox account too if it's BT your billing is locked in to.

But it sounds to me that you need to speak to Microsoft before anything else because as I understand it it's your Microsoft/Xbox account that's been compromised, not your BT one.

Hi apologies i have not been clear you have misunderstood what I was saying.

I have never linked  my xbox account to bt game pass or ever purchased a game pass from anyone ever. Some how some one has ordered a game pass on my bt account and linked there xbox user to my bt account. I have no idea how they logged in to my bt or linked it to my BT account. I am guessing my bt password was compromised but again I am guessing.

I do get ya, sort of, but I'm still rather confused.

Have you got kids, could they have activated it on your bill?

Could you have activated it by yourself?

Has a tenner a month been getting charged on your bill or is it from the 6 months free with Fibre 500/12 months free with Fibre 900 that's got redeemed?

It was 2am when order was placed for game pass (received email order placed £10 a month)  and kids were asleep also no one has access to my bt online account in the home so I'm guessing account was hacked for order to be placed. Never had a game pass. I have no idea what xbox account its linked to. It would be interesting to be able to see what account it's linked to. Also if I ever did want to buy xbox pass in future would I be able to link my xbox account to it not the hackers ? Hence I want to delink xbox account but have no idea what it is

I am really struggling to give even any answer or solution to your problem, never mind a credible one.

I've just gone back in my inbox to see what the arrangement was when I got the 6 months free GPU from BT but I must have deleted the mail.

As far as I can remember BT sent me a code which just stacked on to the 5 or 6 months GPU sub I had at the time.

I'm pretty sure that even though I still had nigh on a full year of GPU subscription it only showed as a month at a time in My BT over the course of the year.

The strange thing was when I went in to the Game Pass App it said my sub would renew in February 23 so showing both the pre-paid time I had left combined with the free 6 months from BT.

I am pretty sure that if you were to get hold of this back office mob in Newcastle they would be able to follow the paper trail to Microsoft and find out what Xbox account was getting its GPU sub paid for by your BT bill.

Here's a screen cap from my Game Pass App showing how long my subscription has got left.

3 years is the longest you can stack, which was 6×6 months Gold I got from CDKeys for just over 75 quid that I then converted in to GPU with a free 1 month of GPU I got with my new laptop.
