Now I am retired and no longer working from home, I can’t afford to continue paying so much for broadband and don’t need the unbreakable broadband . I have Fibre 3 with Halo contract ends 3rd May 25. Only 2 of us in the house , so using it for TV and couple of tablets . Should I just wait for contract end and go with EE , TV is out of contract so I can set that up as well with EE, or try and re contract with BT?
Its not full fibre I believe it’s fibre to the street boxes?
Any help with speeds I should look for greatfully received.

It all depends on what you want and how much you can afford to pay. I did a bit of online research and found that BT/EE annual price increases made them uncompetitive and went to an alt-net for 500Mb/s full fibre at a third of the cost, and that's 500 upload and download
Non Halo deals offered to new BT customers are about half the price that BT charges Halo customers. However, you'll need to be VERY insistent with an agent on the phone to get your Halo deal downgraded to a non Halo one, and there is no way to do this online.
BT's telephone agents are all incentivised by commission to upsell and that includes moving customers to EE deals, which also tend to be more expensive than BT ones.
Some people have apparently achieved a downgrade to a BT non Halo deal, so it is possible, but BT make it as difficult as they can to do this.
Thanks I will bear that in mind. I will wait till April and look at a cheaper option. I used to get £26 per month home working allowance which helped with the price of broadband. Now retired I am spending time making sure I cut down on expenses. Did actually plan to retire July 25 when the contract would have been ended.
My TV is out of contract with them and cheaper than current deals s will be looking for broadband and sports TV package.
