broadband

Go to solution

Hi. been trying to change my farthers broadband from another provider to BT but i'm going around in circles on the web site. He's never been a BT customer before so he hasn't got a BT ID! I've chosen the package that would suit his needs but when i go to checkout and then create an account it keeps asking me for a BT ID! I thought this was supposed to be a quick process. At this stage i'm thinking of trying another provider.... any help...

What type of broadband does your father currently have ADSL orFTTC or FTTP?  If not FTTP is he in an  FTTP priority area where only option for new customers is FTTP?

Have you just tried phoning  BT 03301234150  and placing order. You should not need to contact existing provider as placing order with BT will be sufficient

You create a BTID when you make an order so that you can manage the order.

Hi @max7.

Welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear you've experienced issues when trying to place an order.

A BT ID is needed so you're able to manage a broadband order online, including tracking the order, setting up preferences and accessing support.

The link @gg30340 provided has more information on how to set this up.

If you're still experiencing issues when trying to complete this, please reach out to our team, who will be able to help get everything sorted.
