BT Cloud closing om 31st Oct 24

Hi. For over a month now I have been receiving constant pop ups regarding the closure of BT cloud on the 31st Oct, every few minutes of every day. This has been extremely irritating as I am a writer and was getting sick of my train of thought being so frequently interrupted. So much so that I spoke to BT some weeks ago and ask what I could do to stop it happening. I was told that I would have to wait till the closure when, I was promised, it would stop. Well, it's now November and it is still happening! I have also deleted the app, which I hoped would do it, but no, it is just relentlessly carrying on. It is really doing my head in now - can somebody help me please?

Hi @Redmenace

Welcome to the EE Community.

We'd love to look into this for you. Can you tell me a bit more about these notifications?

How are you receiving them? Is it through your computer or mobile?

If possible can you post screenshots of them here. Just be sure to blank out any personal details first.

Thanks

Ali

Re: BT Cloud closing om 31st Oct 24

Hi Ali, thanks for your interest in helping me with this. Unfortunately, I was unable to take a screenshot of the  pop up and the photo I took of it would not5 load up to this as it was too big a file. Is there an email address I could send it to please? Other than that, all I think I could do is to describe it to you. Please let me know...

@Redmenace

Thanks for trying.

If you could describe to me in detail that would be great.

Is the pop-up appearing on a mobile phone? if so, which make/model is it?

Re: BT Cloud closing om 31st Oct 24

Hi. Firstly, the popup only appears on my laptop and has come up at least three or four times today already. This is what appears - it comes up as a white patch in portrait mode, filling about half of the screen. There is a blue ribbon across the top reading 'Preferences - BT Cloud. The next line down then reads 'BT Cloud', followed by 'Backup' (underlined), then  'Sync' and finally 'Settings'.  Under that is the headline 'Your Backup and shared folders'.  The line beneath this says 'Contents of folders you identify on your computer are copied to the cloud for safekeeping'. The next line down reads '+ Add folder'. Then follows a list of folders, (Music, Desktop, Documents, Pictures and Videos', all of which are ticked, and each one is followed by two icons. One appears to depict a clock, while the other shows what looks like the 'settings' icon.  Finally, in the bottom right corner are two boxes, one saying 'Cancel' and the other one (highlighted in blue) says 'Save'. Throughout the lettering is in blue. I hope this helps, thank you.

Thanks for describing that for us, @Redmenace.

So are you seeing all of this coming up despite the fact that you've now deleted the app, and this regardless of what app you're working in at the time?
I've fed this back to our Cloud team too, so can you please just let me know what operating system and software version you're using at the moment?

Re: BT Cloud closing om 31st Oct 24

Good morning Peter, this popup occurs with whatever I'm working on, BT email or Word mainly, but it's always there when I switch on, before even opening anything up any programmes. My laptop (VJA9TF10) is a HP 250  G7 Notebook. It has a 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor. It runs Windows 11 pro, version23H2. Thanks for your help in trying to solve this irritating problem,
