Re: BT Cloud is closing

All phone can use a USB stick with an adaptor. If bt would have asked me I would have had no concerns about my photo's. Just making excuses for bt's lack of customer care.

So that takes care of one part, assuming the person has such an adaptor or are BT also to supply that, what about all the other issues that prevent it from happening. If it is so easy and you have an answer for them why don't you give BT a call and ask them to do it for you and let us know how you get on.

Re: BT Cloud is closing

Already contacted bt and they were not interested. I was told that they would bring in a paid version of cloud even though they say the present cloud is little used. They just lie through their teeth. I had to pay a professional £40 to sort out the mess bt left me in. Can't wait to my March contract renewal and my ee mobile contract that I was also lied to about.

Hi @Bobbyboy169

Thanks for coming to the community.

Just to check, have you downloaded all your files before the closure?

Re: BT Cloud is closing

Absolutely discussed with bt closing the cloud. It was included in my contract and when I phoned bt I was told that it might be brought back as a paid service which staggered me as one of the reason for bt closing it down was lack of use bt bt customers. Something doesn't ring true to what bt are saying. Also I had to go to a professional and pay £40 to download my files and even they couldn't capture them all and I was told bt would nt reimburse me. Maybe could send me all my files on a memory stick which I would return after I have copied onto my computer and or reimburse me £40. As you can tell from the above I am not a happy bt customer.

Re: BT Cloud is closing

Am I alone in not storing anything on ANY cloud service? You really cannot rely on any of the services, free or not, continuing to hold your files securely and for ever.
I just back up my files daily to a portable hard drive, using software that just updates the files that have changed, so the backup is quick and easy.
Sure I can't access some files when on travel, but then again would I want to via potentially hackable internet services in cafes, hotels, railway stations, trains etc?

If relying on hard drive backups, ideally one copy is stored offsite or in a fireproof container.

Re: BT Cloud is closing

It was never charged for - why are people obsessed about this mis-information.

Look on your bill - is there a line for BT Cloud - NO!

Notice was given in plenty of time regarding this closure.

Why are people still moaning about this. It's easy to find an alternative. Move on.

Leave the Forum Bobby - if you are going to end your contracts then you will have no reason to be here.

Just don't come back crying when you realise how poor the others are!
