BT Parental Controls Not working

I have been told by BT team that BT Parental controls are not working (Not Blocking anything) for "Maximum number of customers" - Is anyone else having an issue as I cannot find any mention of this issue on BT site or forums? and just wonder if I am being fobbed off? Thanks.

Joblobbob,

There are controls in the settings for the Parental controls, if they are not
working, then I think that you just need to give the system a 4 digit pin,
I found out when I got the "Now TV" pack, their one doesn't switch off and
is always asked for in the daytime, the default number is 1234 for there.
