BT-Wifi when out not logging in via broadband customer log in

When I try to log into BT-Wifi via the broadband customer free access the login says username or password not correct when i know it is am I doing something wrong?

the easiest way to check your login is to try connecting to the BTWIFI from your own BT hub.  just disconnect from home network ssid and then try connecting to BTWIFI - you need your BTID and password

@PaddyB  You are making the rash assumption that that website works, it doesn't. There is no check my status option as https://www.bt.com/btwifi just redirects to MyBT login and checking in 'My Products' just gives the broken site that has been continuously reported as broken for months which nobody fixes.
