BT cloud - cannot download subfolders

In BT cloud webpage, I select a folder of photos and click download.

The downloaded zip files contains ONLY the photos and not any subfolders that also contain photos. For example, when the dirs are:

 c:\myphotos\      contains 12 photos and 3 folders

c:\myphotos\oldphotos\     contains 24 photos

c:\myphotos\newphotos\     contains 56 photos

c:\myphotos\familyphotos\     contains 542 photos

It all uploads and all the photos and folders exist on BT Cloud.

When I download from BT Cloud, only 12 photos in the top level folder download, the other folders are empty.

How can I download ALL the photos and folders?

Re: BT cloud - cannot download subfolders

Have you tried using the  Desktop app on a Windows PC and clicking on Download button?

If you do that you should find that you can select either the root drive or navigate through the folder tree to where you want to download.

Personally I’ve simply downloaded the C drive and all the folders and structure are intact. It was some 228 GB and took around 9 hrs with a 68Mbps download.

Re: BT cloud - cannot download subfolders

Not working for me, downloading at anything but the lowest level only returns the files at the selected folder level, not ones lower down the hierarchy. 2 calls to BT have not resolved this, as far as I can tell it is a 'feature' not a 'bug'. Absolute nightmare task given the quantity of stuff I have in large hierarchical file structures.

Good morning @PeterJM123 😊

I've just replied to your post about this over on our other BT Cloud thread.

Re: BT cloud - cannot download subfolders

Hello Peter - I am also using the latest version but it doesn't download sub-folders.  I still have tons of stuff to download by the deadline!  David

Hi @davidmacleod2

Welcome to the community.

I can totally understand the need to get everyone downloaded before the end of the month.

I know you have mentioned that you are already on the latest version but have you tried to delete the BT Cloud app and then install it again to make sure everything is as it should be?

Re: BT cloud - cannot download subfolders

OK, I'll try that.  Does the app have a 'Download everything' option?

Re: BT cloud - cannot download subfolders

I've had a look on our Download your files from BT Cloud page, and that does say that when you first open the BT Cloud desktop app, the setup wizard will guide you to choose all BT Cloud content, but that does look to be the only time you'd get an option like that.

Keep me posted with how you get on.

Re: BT cloud - cannot download subfolders

If you click on the cloud symbol in the system tray (Right hand area of the task bar and up chevron) there are  three options  'Download' 'Open Web' and 'Your Cloud'. Clicking on 'Download'  you get all the root folders of the devices and the sync drive folder (BT Cloud folder). You can select any or all of them and all the cloud content is downloaded - including folder structures - onto your chosen Destination. It should be really as simple as that. Worked for me.

Appreciate that perhaps the installs haven't gone well or you may need to download the latest versions of the app. But  once you've cracked that it should work okay.
