I know they killed off the BT WiFi ap, GGRRRRrrrr...... & they haven't released an "EE-WiFi" ap - & may never do so 😞
I also know you now have to log in manually into the EE WiFi hotspots using your BT ID & Password - but every time I try it just loops me back to the EE landing login screen after telling me the SSL certificate is untrusted.
I see other have had this problem too but can't find where it's been solved? & some posts have no replies.
Thanks for coming to the community 🙂
Have you tried another browser to see if this helps?
The Help & advice | Find WiFi hotspots page has steps to help you get connected, can you try these and let me know how you get on?
Leanne 🙂
Hi @Leanne_T ,
Thanks for your suggestion.
I couldn't see which browser the phone was using as it automatically brought up the "EE wifi Network login page", but I know it wasn't Chrome as I couldn't see any of my other open tabs or the menu.
So I followed your suggestion & installed Opera browser.
As long as I have the Opera browser open when I connect to the ee-wifi hotspot it now allows me to log in without any SSL warning popping up.
It's a bit of a pig in a poke workaround though, & especially problematic in weak signal areas as every time it drops out I have to repeat the process 😞 Plus I prefer the Chrome browser.
Is there any chance that BT / EE will provide an app that functions like the BT-WiFi one used to?
Thanks for coming back and letting me know and for the feedback.
The Get public WiFi access page would be updated with any new features for the WiFi hotspots.
Thanks.
Leanne.
