My log in is an email address and the password gets me into mybt. So the log in is valid.
But when I try to log into a bt hotspot using the same credentials i get an unexpected error message. This is the same whether I go through the WiFi app (downloaded, installed, deleted and reinstalled 3x today) or try and log on directly through network settings.
I can see the BT hotspots in settings but I cannot gain access.
Phone is new Motorola (Android).
Any ideas?
Hi @Sarahax thanks for posting and sorry about the problems accessing BT Wifi. Can you check to make sure you're not opted out?
You can do this by logging into MyBT on a web browser, click 'Your products' scroll down and click 'learn more' on the BT Wifi section.
Once on that page, you can see if you've opted in or out to the BT wifi service.
Thanks
Neil
Thanks. That might actually have worked. It's only been three years that I have not been able to access BT WiFi hotspots. I just gave it up as a bad idea. Bt tech help no good at all. It transpired that my bt account number had not been linked to my account. So I couldn't check what was happening on my account until that was sorted out - let alone see if access to BT WiFi was enabled. Because I was never able to log in- and even when that was resolved couldn't see my account.
So thank you. But there is a broader lesson here. So called tech staff should check the basics. Can the customer login? See the right account? If not put that right before progressing further.
