How to unlink BT to xbox gamepass/app

I can not find a way to unlink my BT account from my Xbox app in anyway, when I go back to my products>content partner it just says "add now" and nothing about removing the link.

Hi @justhe, sorry you can't find a way to unlink your Xbox account from BT.

Are you at the end of a free period on Game Pass from BT? If so when did it end?

I just started my 12 month period, I am more wondering how to remove it for when the time comes down the line so it doesn't auto renew for £10

Hi @justhe, thanks for confirming that. It should happen automatically at the end of your free period if you've clicked to stop the auto renewal.
I don’t want to pay for Game Pass Ultimate after the free period, what do I do?

go to MyBT and switch off the auto-renewal.

Either wait for a mod to add you to a queue for them to disconnect the account link or, once a Game Pass has expired (and renewal is turned off in your BT account), buy a code from somewhere like CD Keys and redeem it from within the Xbox app (not your Microsoft account).

I'm already waiting for a mod and customer service to fix this but not getting any updates...

It all started a year ago when they accidentally cancelled my Game Pass after 6 months instead of the 12 months that were included in my contract. After a lot of back and forth, an admin was so kind to help me and get me in touch with the correct team (total shambles all of the BT/Game Pass stuff - even the BBC reported: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-68085437

A friendly guy then called me and gave me a code for extra 12 months of Game Pass (still appearing as managed by BT on my Microsoft account). This expires tomorrow.

I received an email stating:

We hope you're enjoying Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Your discounted price of £0.00 ends on 30 Mar 2024.

After that, it'll be £10.00 a month. You'll see this on your next bill.

You can switch off auto-renewal anytime, in My BT.

However, there's no option for me in the My BT area anymore to manage the autorenewal...

I contacted an admin - they forwarded it to BT's Xbox team...

Someone called me a few days later and called me by the wrong name - and then said that I requested an extra 12 months Game Pass - so obviously some mix-up happened there...

Now I'm still waiting for an update and BT is quite.... 🤔

At the same time, the deadline for renewal is tomorrow and I do not want to continue paying for Game Pass via BT...

Right... A service rep on the chat feature now tells me that it won't renew tomorrow (deadline day) and that my BT and Game Pass accounts will be decoupled... Let's see if that will be the case

LOL... Kinda thought this might be the case... But: The information from that chat box service rep was wrong... Just received an email:

We hope you're enjoying Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate discount's ended, so you're now paying £10.00 a month. You'll see this on your next bill.

You can switch off auto-renewal anytime, in My BT.
