My Mac computer cannot open the new Norton security download, is there something else I need to do?

I asked the other day for a way forward on opening the new Norton download for my Mac computer.

When I download it and try to open it I get the following messages up;

1. Safari can't open file because no available application can open it.

2. Classic environment is no longer supported.

Can someone please advise me on how I get around this?

Hi, @Alan26 welcome to the community and thanks for posting, I'm sorry to see you're experiencing problems installing Norton, whats OS is your Mac on?

BT Virus protect will work on the current and previous two versions of Mac OS.

Hi @Alan26 thanks for getting back to me, that OS isn't supported sorry. Is it possible to update the Mac to a newer OS version?
