Long time BT customer, but as there is no fibre and no prospect of fibre in my area, I moved to another fibre broadband supplier over 12 months ago.
However, I want to keep my existing email address, so I pay for Premium Email and also BT Virus Protect for 15 devices.
These two items are shown on my monthly bill.
I bought a new laptop recently and want to install BT Virus Protect onto it.
I have gone through the normal route i.e. log in to MyBT using BT ID user name and password.
I am shown as the Account Holder.
I should see "My Security" on the top menu, but it is not there.
Checked in "My Products" and all it shows is Email and no BT Virus Protect.
I have checked my monthly bill and I am paying £7.50 for Premium Email and £5.62 for BT Virus Protect for 15 licences.
I am currently using five.
Any suggestions to resolve?
Thought it was to good to be true.
Went onto Norton one one of my existing devices.
This shows that I have used 5 of 15 licences.
Clicked the + button to "Protect Another Device".
This sent an email to my new device.
Opened the Norton email on the new device.
Message "Installing your Norton protection is easy"
Pressed Download.
Next screen says "There is a problem - please try again later"
Will keep trying.
So annoying.
Just to clarify, you only need pay for Premium Mail if you wish to access it via a mail client or app. Access via webmail is free via Basic Mail.
Do you need Norton? I have used Windows own antivirus program Defender since BT used McAfee as their antivirus freebie. Had no issues.
