You would want to try using web browser to connect to BTWIFI as you are not, for whatever reason, able to connect using the app.

If there were millions of  BT customers having problems connecting to BTWIFI the forum would be inundated with complaints - it is not

No I wouldn't want to try using a Web browser at all.
There is an APP for Bt-Wifi which I have downloaded, installed and attempted to use BUT am unable to log-in.
It is down to BT who took my hard earned cash to fix it to my satisfaction, very simple isn't it?
