Hi - Noticed recently when watching movies on Amazon Prime DTRT4000 box there is audio limiting applied when spikes appear in audio levels. After doing a bit of research have found people having this issue but solving it by changing 'English Dialogue Boost' settings. Now after some poking around I've found the setting - when playing a movie go to audio then you can choose from 'English' default setting 'English Dialogue Boost Medium' setting and 'English Dialogue Boost High' setting.
Now strangely selecting the Medium or High setting actually improves the limiting whilst the standard 'English' default setting has very noticeable limiting. I suspect that the settings are actually mixed up and the default setting actually has limiting applied. At least I can get round it but I would still like to know which setting is the one with zero limiting applied if possible.
Interestingly watching online on a PC the Dialogue Boost seems to operate in an entirely different way almost as if a completely different kind of limiter is being used.
I've been watching a scene in the movie The Dark to compare - at 20:00 a character is playing with a lighter - the scene has quiet background sound and more sudden spikes.
