It is supposed to flash that's the nature of the technology.
When it flashes means that it is receiving/transmitting data even if it is not intended for that device.
It's on the rear of the box so you should not be able to see it.

If I couldn't see it I wouldnt have raised the post, It flashes all night and it's irritating

You cannot stop it as a setting because this is how the STB receives streaming video etc. but some options below might help -
