you asked about the two types of software etc
unless it changed this is an explanation given a few years ago.
The manufacturers version number is software compatible with the hardware. The box will also be running youview core component software which has its own version number.
Thanks for that. Much appreciated
@dephead2004 this thread from a while back went into a little more detail https://community.bt.com/t5/YouView-from-BT/Software-versions-info/m-p/2227021
Again thanks for the info.
Hi,Will this firmware update cure my problem with a purple screen when box is switched on in the morning.
I have had issues since purchasing the box in October 2022.I have bought another high quality HDMI cable as it was suggested that might cure it..It didn’t.I am fed up with and not what I expect from BT pro box
They haven't said what they think it fixes - but then last time they did say what the fixes were they didn't fix 😐

My box just updated after I asked it to do a check, first time I have ever seen the purple BT TV splash screen with the "We are updating your TV experience" message.
Now on 4.1.52 (f1a841) as posted earlier.
So where do we look now for the largest software? You view support closed recently
Hi @Spanishbear - please can I ask what the make and model of your TV is?
@dephead2004 - I'll look into whether we can publish some form of release notes here.
That'd be great thanks
