Bt pro box keeps coming up with IPC6023

Hi all.

I have a real dilema with my new Bt box pro wifi.

It keeps saying the IPC6023 error code which apparently is a broadband fault.

This has been an ongoing saga for nearly two months since I first had my contract renewed.

Originally I had BT Sport hd recordable box & ultimate package and a phone line, Which we upgraded to fibre broadband,Phone line & Bt Sport with HD. Unfortunately for me the person booking all this trying to be as quick as he could forgot to include the BT sport HD and just put Sport. Since that mistake was made everything that could go wrong has, Firstly when the engineers came to install, all that came in the post for them was one red and black special cable for the supposed to be changed Smart Hub 2 along with a new wifi box pro. The following day after the old contract was shut down, I lost all hd programmes and found out the mistake, After waiting in a call que for over an hour they (BT) told me they couldn't just add it back on and had to close it all down then add it back on at an extra cost then offsetting it with the monthly cost of the fibre and reduction in Bt as apparently that was the only way to get it to re-open (don't ask me?)  This took almost another week to resolve finally got it put back on only to find we couldn't get 4K ultimate which is what the point of upgrading was for, as we had got 4k tv's. They said the box must be faulty and sent another out, Same thing, so they then said it must be my wiring (which it wasn't) I said if that is so how come I had been able to get it on my older style 4K recordable box and had on the Pro until the contract expired? So they(BT) said ok we'll send out your old type box and you can try that. A couple of days later the box came, They sent out the old non HD recordable box that didn't even have the Ultimate as a channel on the guide. I said to them you have sent the wrong box, But they insisted I set it up etc and then said" you've been sent the wrong box!!" "We'll send you out the right one" A few days later another box came and it's another wifi pro instead of the 4K recordable box. So another 11/2 hrs later I told them you've sent another wrong box.. "Oh sorry about that I know exactly the one you need I'll send it today express.." The box arrived a couple of days later due to post strike, They sent another old style non Hd box. But all of a sudden the Bt Pro box started showing ultimate 4K. Brilliant.. On Monday I will ring to get these boxes sent back. however over the weekend not only did ultimate go but the whole package just a blank screen.   I spoke to BT again and they said they have checked the account (All is in order) We'll send out a new hub ( Even though I said it's not my equipment as I have good internet speed( well over 100mbs)The other equipment is fine (Sky) IPTV etc. The  current position is I spoke to technical in Ireland this morning for 2hrs+ resetting everything my end, We found we could not connect WPS, But could connect via cable and password,  Even then it still comes up as error. My thoughts are someone clicked the wrong button and blocked my account server or something technical. I have got a BT engineer coming out tomorrow but doubt this will be sorted. Anybody else had this issue? Oh by the way I now have 2x BT non hd recordable boxes, 1x Bt pro box & a Smart Hub 2 all to go back to BT...

Re: Bt pro box keeps coming up with IPC6023

IPC6023 can be a problem with the DSLAM which, if true, would require the attention of OR but equally it could be a just a slight hitch on your home network, it's unlikely to be anything to do with any **bleep** ups the CSA made.

Try eliminating your home network first by powering down the ONT (the white box where the fibre terminates) and factory reset the Smarthub 2 using a pin through the hole in the back, leave the ONT off for (say) 15 - 20 minutes and try again

Re: Bt pro box keeps coming up with IPC6023

Thanks for the reply. we took the power lead out of the white box and factory reset the hub, and box.

Dillan from BT technical in Belfast went through pretty much everything (we were on the phone for about 2hrs trying all sorts of things. He said this has never happened to him before, Where he hasn't been able to fix the problem

What is DSLAM and who is OR as I haven't been asked about this and it may be the answer?

Is this the actual server for my account? Because My theory is it has been closed, or had a glitch in the system.

However last night my Sky tv kept flashing on and off at different intervals and occasionally came up with no signal then came back on again until I unplugged the BT hdmi...

Re: Bt pro box keeps coming up with IPC6023

The DSLAM is part of the Open Reach (OR) network. If you've already gone through checking your home network then the problem is more likely than not due to your upgrade to full fibre.

This problem has been discussed numerous times before on this site and the moderators ( @NeilO  ) are well familiar with it, I feel sure that they will be able to assist you.

I included a link to NeilO in my last post, he is one of the BT moderators (the only BT employees on this customer forum), he will pick it up and he (or one of his colleagues) will contact you but they are only a small team and they may not reply immediately.
