Re: Bt tv schedule

We understand how frustrating the recent issues with the EETV EPG have been, and we’re genuinely sorry for the disruption. Our team is fully focused on restoring the EPG to the high standard you expect and deserve..

These problems are the result of a recent change in our metadata service provider. The new provider is curently working through integration challenges with legacy systems, which has led to the inaccuracies you’ve experienced. We recognise these issues have persisted longer than anticipated, and we’ve been monitoring them closely, providing daily reports and feedback to ensure the provider is aligned with our goal of resolving them swiftly and thoroughly.

While this change in metadata provider wasnt initiated by EETV, EE is actively working with the provider to minimise the impact and accelerate progress. We’re also supporting a full migration away from the legacy systems, which will help prevent these problems from recurring - and will enhance our service in the near term also.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We’re committed to delivering a seamless viewing experience and appreciate your support as we work through this.

@EPGWhizz  This really is the same explanation and status that was put forward 3 months ago in June. If your supplier is failing I would expect that appropriate escalation through the EE chain of command has been occuring over the past 3 months as I presume there would be service levels that your supplier should be attaining.  Is there an actual recovery plan ?

I will ask the question that was alluded to by @gomezz yesterday. Why is it that the Sky Sports channels are so badly affected? We have Liverpool v Southampton playing in the F A  Cup on Sky Sports Main Event next Tuesday evening which is obviously incorrect. This is different to the listing on Sky Sports Football which also mentions F A Cup with EFL Cup as well, but you do have to go into the full listing to find out who’s actually playing.

I am wondering if the issues with the legacy metadata systems is the systems themselves or the loss of the key personnel who actually knew how the systems worked?

Big Al or should that be Big AI is not cutting it as their replacement!  😀

Exactly. And it is BT who need to do the investigating as it is them who are taking money for a service which currently isn't fit for purpose.

Re: Bt tv schedule

I see that next week's Carabao Cup match between Liverpool and Southampton is incorrectly billed in the EPG as being the FA Cup Third Round on Sky Sports Main Event!  It's correctly listed as being the EFL Cup Third Round on Sky Sports Football but with a captioned picture of the Emirates FA Cup!

This really is truly poor and quite shocking.

Is BT/EE TV really paying for such a poor implementation of the EPG on their platform?  It's embarrassing.

For the benefit of those that don’t look at the EE Community forum, this issue has been discussed over there. The latest update sounds more promising and it comes from a reliable source.

@Brucemeister5   I don’t share your optimism. The reliable source is passing on information from other EE teams.

@zulu17 Yes, I’m aware that he isn’t directly involved. I’d be much more confident if he was. The length of time that has been projected is certainly a concern, and I don’t think we’ve been given a proper explanation as to why the Sky Sports channels are such a mess. The Liverpool v Southampton match next week has gone from bad to worse and Wigan Athletic Warriors v Leeds Rhinos Rhinos tonight in the Betfred Super League looks intriguing.

Re: Bt tv schedule

@Brucemeister5  At least in those examples they got the towns right. The most strange one of recent times was last Saturday ’s Bundesliga game  when Bayern Munich were shown as playing Freiburg in the EPG when in fact they were home to Hamburg. It is difficult to to comprehend how such basic information can be wrong.

What I would find alarming is is if they are having to change and replace legacy systems to accommodate one change of metadata supplier what impacts will this have on the data for their other metadata suppliers for EPG channels that continue currently to provide reasonable accurate schedules.
