Deleting on EE Box Pro

I'm not commenting on the new EE format on the box, just their usual poor designing, making it slightly harder to get to MYTV but they do seem to have a sadistic desire to get you to Delete accidentally. When I got the EE box I found the handset dreadful and deleted a few programmes accidentally, until someone said, "go back to the old BT handset", I did and have been a happy little bunny since. Till now, as the handset won't let me delete one programme in a series, although I can delete a one off programme but even worse is the list of unrelated options that come up when deleting and the fact the button remains there, so an accidental flick and you've deleted the programme you would watch next. There was no need for change on the screen.

EE want us to go over to them from BT, they give me no confidence to.

Re: Deleting on EE Box Pro

If you need to delete an episode of a show you have recorded several off. Go into the my TV bit and you will see you have (for example) 5 episodes of X show. Press ok and you will get a list of the episodes and below that you will have an option to delete a single episode. I have the Pro box with the "new" Bluetooth remote and never had an issue so far

Re: Deleting on EE Box Pro

Re: Deleting on EE Box Pro

I've also done this. You delete one Episode, the next Episode is highlighted, you are "programmed" to press Play to View and,too late, watch that one Delete as well!

           NOT an improvement

@gilgra @graybag

Are you going into main management screen of MYTV, by pressing the MYTV button? (Which is what @Manatarms84 is referring to)

Or are you deleting from the list of programs to the right of the MYTV button, which would cause the problem you are experiencing.

Re: Deleting on EE Box Pro

In the Recordings tab of the Settings, you can set a delete confirmation to prevent accidental deletion.

But I agree that it's a poor desi

Re: Deleting on EE Box Pro

I am going into MYTV,then Recordings (the only way to see multiple, unwatched Episodes batched together without "trawling" through ALL unwatched Recordings hoping to find the FIRST of any unwatched in Series). After viewing an Episode and then deleting that is when it's easy to delete the next Episode when selected instead of Viewing.

ps what is the use of MY MOST WATCHED SUBSCRIBED PROGRAMMES,in position 3?

I KNOW which those are (and BTW that has, currently, stopped showing ANY Channels anyway)!

Doesn't help, it remains live and too easy to delete

Having had a chance to switch the box on and play around, I see what you mean now. So used to using the Delete Button on the remote (IR version, never got on with the newer Bluetooth ones), which no longer seems to work in that screen but does still work in the previous screen on both the series folders and individual recordings.  A mess indeed!

Re: Deleting on EE Box Pro

The main MYTV menu of course, problem is answering questions means I go in, what happens when I delete & get caught. Can’t win
