EE TV recorded programs cannot be fast-forwarded

EE TV recorded programs cannot be fast-forwarded

has anyone else experiencing problems FF through some (not all) recorded programs? This seems to happen to some, but not all recordings, once you start watching, the FF function stops working, unless you stop the program and restart, then maybe the FF will work?

Secondly, if you are able to FF and the banner pops up to show progress through the program, it gets stuck on the screen and doesn't disappear. The back/escape button stops working too.. again this seems to be random and there is no way to escape out of the program except to switch off and on again the TV box.

Both are so very frustrating! EE seems to have introduced even more annoying bugs in to this system.

It is pointless calling support because they seem to have one trick to fix everything; a factory reset on the TV Box, I have already had to do that so many times 😞

Re: EE TV recorded programs cannot be fast-forwarded

I suspect that not being able to fast forward recorded programmes is not a bug, but a deliberate policy to stop people fast forwarding through the advertisements. This is being introduced on newer TV recording devices at the behest of the advertisers.
My Manhattan T3-R receiver-recorder allows me to fast forward on every programme I've recorded. If anyone has the newer T4-R it would be interesting to hear if this also still allows fast forwarding.

I have same annoying problem with the progress banner not turning off after using ff on a recorded program. Very annoying!

Lokking at your issue by channels, which channels can you fast forward, and which not? I suspect the issue may map to itv channels won’t, and all others will.

Also, are you in IP Mode or Aerial Mode? These stunts and prohibitions seem to go with IP Mode, which no-one who can use Aerial Mode should adopt IMHO, unless they are inextricably wedded to the lesser channels that this mode provides in HD, and Aerial Mode doesn’t.

Re: EE TV recorded programs cannot be fast-forwarded

I’m not having any issues fast forwarding recorded programmes. I have two Pro tv boxes, one in IP mode and the other in aerial mode. I normally use the >> button to move forward through the adverts 60 seconds at a time by holding my thumb down until it responds to my demands.

Re: EE TV recorded programs cannot be fast-forwarded

My advice to anyone who wants both the benefits of IP mode and that of Aerial mode is to have a second Freeview PVR which uses Aerial mode.

IP Mode ... is this some new feature? It isn't as though they are hijacking the FF button during adverts, it is also during the program..

yes I cannot find a solution for it, it has become so annoying and so frequent I want to get rid of BT/EE completely and just try something else.

it is happening during the programs, not necessarily during adverts, infuriating!

OK, backing off a notch or two technically, have you got an aerial plugged into your box, or not?
