EE TV with an ASUS Router

I've had some issues with both EE and BT routers so swapped to the ASUS TUF GAMING AX6000. Followed the instructions kindly posted on (75) Play BT IPTV on an ASUS Router - YouTube to enable multicast.

The main EE box downstairs works fine but the upstairs second EE box occasionally gets pixelation and can end up loosing channels altogether.

Both are connected by Ethernet.

Are people happily using other none BT/EE routers with EE TV boxes?

Any tips?

Thank you

@sabsharpe

Do you have any switches in your setup?

Yes @Tim there are 3 switches on the network. When using the BT Smart Hub 2 or the EE router (which had bugs in it) no issues.

It was just a thought that if any of the switches do not support IGMP Snooping then using the downstairs box might cause "flooding" which might affect the upstairs box.

IGMP Snooping ensures that only the requesting device gets the stream otherwise all ethernet devices could be hit with the requested stream.

@Tim

The  images below show what it is like when it goes bad. I swapped to wifi and it got even worse. Weird thing is it works most of the time and the first channels to fail are Sky Sports ones. Going to try and re setup the EE TV box as sure I read somewhere that was a good thing to do.

Any thoughts or comments? Have you heard of anyone using an ASUS router with EE TV ?
