Re: EETV

@DarrenDev  I assume you're referring to your G5 though @gomezz (Recordable Box 4K) which has always been blue. You're long overdue an upgrade, which I'm pretty sure you can get for free.

I got the email telling me I could get a new box but the box I have works fine.  Would I have to return the old box as there are quite a lot of recording on there I have yet to watch?

(plus  I have been more concerned about not being able to login into MyBT for several months - now resolved)

If that particular box was ordered before 13th December 2019 then it remains yours.

My understanding is that it the recorded "order date" of the specific box that is used to check whether, or not, it is classified as before 13/12/19.

If the date is on or after 13th December 2019 then there is a late return fee.  The late return fee is currently refundable if the box is appropriately returned within 2 years.

The current late return fee for the BT TV 4K Recordable Box (G5) is £115.

Re: EETV

Actually the box is a replacement box for one that failed. The original was before 2019 but the replacement was after 2019. How does that affects the returns policy? Or do I just pass off the original failed box and return that?

Re: EETV

@gomezz the box was provided to you as part of your subscription, so would need to be returned. I don't know whether returning the failed box would be enough to trick the system into thinking you'd returned it - it's obviously not something I can recommend you do.

Re: EETV

My recording of Game of the Day on Sky Sports Premier League failed last night. I believe that this was due to the EPG not moving on at the beginning of the programme. I know that Skydance have only just taken over, but just wanted to report that there are still issues with recordings even though there has been a big improvement with scheduled recordings disappearing.

I have this programme on series link and always schedule the following programme too in case it starts late and overruns. That programme was rescheduled for next week, but as Game of the Day is only shown once, it’s not really any use to me. Nevertheless it is a good feature to have a missed recording rescheduled.

Re: EETV

Thanks for taking the time to flag this, @Brucemeister5

I'm glad to hear you've noticed an improvement overall when it comes to recording issues, but I'll still get this feedback passed on for you.

Re: EETV

@zulu17 My recording should have started at 20:30. I was watching something else in another room at this time. When I went to check my recording some time later, the red light was not showing on the box. However, my recording was still showing up in scheduled recordings. My assumption being that the recording had not activated due to the EPG not moving on. I have no idea whether Game of the Day was late coming on last night. It often is, hence why I always set up a recording for the programme which follows it. When I checked again this morning, Game of the Day had disappeared from scheduled recordings,  but the programme which followed it had been rescheduled for another day this week as that had also failed.

Re: EETV

@Brucemeister5 the programme was on TNT Sports, which supports accurate recording. This means the recording doesn't start at the scheduled time automatically - it waits for the signal to indicate that the programme has started. I can see on one of your boxes that at 2am this morning it marked the recording as expired - i.e. it gave up waiting for the signal.

I'll check with the team tomorrow whether the signal was sent to us. I'm guessing not.

Re: EETV

Thanks Darren. Absolutely no need for you to be looking at this on a Sunday! In point of fact the programme in question was on Sky Sports Premier League.
