Failure to record

Repeat failure to record seems to be especially when try record sky sport early morning 

tried to change standby mode but doesn’t seem to stay on always ready in standby mode 

any help gratefully received missing too much of the rugby championship ☹️

Which box do you have and roughly how long has it been problematical ?

Normally  unless there is any suspicion of broadband or connection problems issues like you describe would involve recommendations like factory resets (keeping recordings)  on the box. BUT as you specifically mention Sky Sports recordings not occurring there has been ongoing issues with EETV EPG programming data for these channels which might be a cause of some of your missed recordings.

I would be inclined to schedule for a couple of days an early morning  short recording on a non sports channel  eh ch4 or 5 to verify that your box is waking up to do recordings.

Thanks for your reply 

I will try recording random early morning stuff on other channels but it does as you suggest seem to be a problem with the box not waking up as records sky sports ok when box active which is why I was trying to change settings to always ready but it is an option but won’t let me select this
