Hi, i just got a Bt tv pro box, apart from the remote for my Sharp TV not working with it there is a much mote annoying problem. When I put on the epg it starts with the SD channels, I hid 5 of them (001 -005) so now it starts on 006, Itv2, i cant work out how to get it to open on the HD channels, 101 etc, this must be possible surely?
Hide channels 1-100 😛
Joking apart, though, there are filter buttons on the EPG, where you can choose HD, so one keypress on the opening screen of the EPG will give you what you want, with one other keypress to go back to All Channels when this is what you want, and no need to Hide anything.
I think the HD filter setting may persist if you close the EPG and reopen it later, which would be even better, but I am not near a YouView box to try this at the moment. Though if not, one keypress is bearable.
At the moment I have to press 'guide' then top direction button, then right direction button and highlight 'HD and Ultra HD' to be on BBc1 Scotland HD, channel 101, several button presses, it doesnt save either, when I go back into the Epg its starts at 006 Iptv2 again,
Guide, top direction button only gets you there from BBC 1; blue button gets you there from anywhere in the EPG; but yes, still right, select, to get you into HD on BBC 101.
1, Info, select Watch live in HD, is a step quicker, at least. As is just pressing 1,0,1, come to that.
It's a Freeview issue with SD channels starting at 1, and HD channels at 101. I can't see anything changing in the future with DTT's future in the balance. Freely will solve this problem with HD channels given priority, (plus with extra HD channels streamed in place of several SD channels).
Most TV's will give you the option to change the EPG so you can give priority to HD channels, with Youview you can't.
Its very annoying, I will probably just end up hiding about 20 channels so the epg starts on channel 101.
Curious! When I open the EPG on my older 4000T box is is positioned at the channel currently / last used.
Is this different for the Pro box then?
