Hi, just received my BTTV Pro box and noticed that when connected over Ethernet it works fine direct into the BTHub 4 port Ethernet switch but NOT when connected to the Meraki Ethernet switch that I use for everything else in the house. This switch is behind a Meraki Firewall which then connects into the BThub. I have FTTP.
I see theres comments about multicast, how do I enable this to work when connected to my main Ethernet switch? I need the BTTV boxes to be on this network so I can use the mobile app to control the recordings and also cast from the phone etc that are connected via Access Points to the Meraki Switch. I cant be the only person that has a home network that people will want their BTTV on. Any help very welcome.
Note - old SkyQ box worked fine with the above physical connection and I don't fancy circumventing the Meraki Firewall just to get the TV working.
You need to enable iptv routes. "Microsoft" setting on your firewall and also enable igmp snooping. Then if you have it, enable "fast leave" in iptv settings.
Without this your firewall will not be able to use the multicast streams.
On some firewalls you'll need to enable a 2nd virtual wan to pickup the vlan of the iptv multicast streams
Look at this guide from meraki

Yes I do. On my Asus I have to enable multicast routing. There's various options like rfc, Microsoft etc etc.
Youview/bt needs Microsoft. I assume this might be because originally bt tv was called bt vision and the box then ran Microsoft software before Microsoft decided to pull the plug on anything media centre related.
