Problems with remote control

Just set up my new bt box pro which seems to have gone ok except when I turn off the tv/box using the new remote I get the old freeview message "no signal" and have to turn off the tv completely using the old remote. While the box is operating the tv the old remote doesn't have any effect as you would expect.  My tv is 11 years old and it has been suggested that my new remote hasn't paired correctly.  Also the volume coming from the new box is a lot lower and needs to be turned up.  Have I got the installation wrong?

Re: Problems with remote control

I'm not sure exactly what you want to happen? If you want the TV to turn off with the box you need to hold the button down until they both shutdown. If you want the TV to revert to it's own tuner you need to have another aerial cable from the Pro Box to the TV & you need to enable Antenna Out in the Pro Box Picture & Sound settings.

Unfortunately the low volume is a known issue that BT don't seem to have any interest in addressing.

Re: Problems with remote control

Many thanks for this. I thought I was turning off the box and tv together but I will try holding down the button longer. I do have other questions about the remote for later.

Re: Problems with remote control

Only set up bt box pro today and apart from my earlier query I find the remote control is either disappointing or I haven't fully explored its potential.  There are several buttons not included ie. No button to flick from tv to radio and back again, no button to return to the channel you were previously watching and no access to the news and sport headlines we got via the BBC red button.  Do I type in the channel numbers each time I want to change?  I am sure I will get used to this remote soon but it does seem to be lacking.  Any suggestions please?
