@zulu17 ITV aren't great at communicating what they are doing. They're equally silent about rolling out regional HD variations in Freeview, too (even though the BBC have enabled it and that ITV already have regional HD production).
I suspect they're still working through the different platform versions of their apps.
Not to mention a 50fps frame rate which is absolutely key for sport (live or not) The old BT Sport app had this licked years ago and Now has reached the same standard. Discovery+ has this on point too.
ITVX content (at least on the YouView box and Roku which I've tested) is very much the poorer relation.
As a whole for ITVX, i had hopes 50fps would be a factor in what they had in mind with regards for offering live-streams of events, which are produced as such. But no, they cut the FR down from 50p to 25p for no reason that i can fathom.
I agree its where the BT Sport app had it down, and then Now and Discovery+ have too, and not forgetting, iPlayer had it before anyone else and the difference it makes is unreal, but ITVX is such a standout for lack of functionality and general quality!
@Popeye13_Official Don't forget that they never provide 5.1 audio on anything.
Now is the only one of those i listed that provide 5.1 (Discovery+ doesn't, apart from the Atmos streams on UHD, but thats pretty threadbare)
Id settle for a decent stereo mix, not the low bitrate audio they all seem to chuck out and expect us to be happy with, again apart from Now TV which offers 5.1 and Atmos now on both live-channels and OnDemand content. But the lack of 50fps from ITVX is a stark reminder that they're pretty shambolic for a broadcaster/streamer.
(Also worth noting that ITV doesn't offer 5.1 anywhere - TV or OnDemand)
Tonight’s live ITVs FA Cup Wimbledon v Dagenham game is not available on EETV boxes. ITV provide coverage on ITV X but ITV and EETV do not provide these live streams on EETV boxes.
When will this be addresssed ? seems impossible to get any answers or statement from ITV or EETV as to what they are doing to bring the full live PSB broadcaster FA Cup content to EE TV audiences
Because they'll both blame eachother for the current-lack of live-stream availability. Its easier for them both to keep passing the buck than answer it.
