Re: New Way to browse

Personally I don't like some of the navigation particular when on the Home page.

Access to your recordings made and scheduled  are still as long  or longer navigation  than previously.

There are some accessibility issues with the ZOOM and moving around the screen.

Whilst it may be desirable for EETV toi have a consistent look between the non recordable boxes (Apple TV , Box Mini) and the   recordable  Box Pro it should be remembered that the ability to record is likely to be a leading factor in the customer opting for Box Pro so making the recording management as convienient  and useable as possible should be a main driver.

Re: New Way to browse

@Tomjeffrey20 Yes, they usually roll it out gradually. I don’t know why we seem to get the updates before most people. I check every day for updates.

Re: New Way to browse

An article from Youview says

from 24th April  2025 , EE TV customers using the TV Box Pro and Mini will notice a change to the Home Screen.

Youview used to do phased releases and pausing releases over holiday periods so I wouldn’t be too concerned if you have not received it.

It does seem a bit low key release as other than the coming soon notice there hasn’t been any promotion from EETV. Normally there would be promotional notices posted on community boards.

Not sure if there is any new functionality other than the Home Screen layout and navigation .

Re: New Way to browse

I have an EE TV Box Pro but not BT Broadband. I've been able to use this for the last year without problems but the latest software update seems to have removed the "Settings" option which is a bit problematic.
The side menu opens as described here, but the last two options "Sport" and "Settings" are missing. I have tried scrolling down, there's nothing there. Is this intentional?:

Opening the EE TV side menu

When you’re on the main screen on your EE TV service, pressing the Left or Back button on your remote control will open the side menu, where you’ll find:

  • Search
  • Home
  • Guide
  • Apps
  • My TV
  • TV Shows
  • Films
  • Sport
  • Settings

Re: New Way to browse

Hi @markbloke  I doubt whether what you are experienceing  is intentional , equally i doubt whether EE/BT will have focused on testing on non EE/BT broadband connectios.

Home screens loaded on Youview boxes I think used to be customised according to  broadband supplier (ie a BT/EE  broadband was identified you got the EETV (formerly BTTV)  home page and logos otherwise a generic YOUVIEW home   page without the EE features.

Re: New Way to browse

After this update scrolling through the menus on my BT pro box feels much slower and chopier. It used to be much smoother now it feels slow and clunky like the box is struggling!

@ zulu17
Good point. I see the firmware on my box is TalkTalk so likely they've updated it with a variant suited to their own boxes regardless of what it does to any other YouView box. Smashing.
